Learning House Sport

Leerhuis Sport is green

In this sports learning centre you will find 4 modern sports halls, each with its own theme. Furthermore, we have a wonderfully large sports pitch on our own grounds, where multiple classes can do sports at the same time.

During physical education (PE) lessons, we focus on games, gymnastics, athletics, self-defence and movement to music, all of which revolve around learning to move, working together and having fun. In the lower years, the emphasis is on learning and improving sports and movement activities. In the upper years, elective lessons and ability-based lessons take centre stage.

PE (Physical Education) and Society

Do you like playing sports and do you enjoy organising sporting activities? Then in the upper school you can choose the subject BSM: PE, Sport and Society. BSM is an extension of the subject PE and here you develop practical skills (teaching, organising, coaching), learn about health and nutrition, and gain more insight into the role of sport in society. BSM is an examination subject here at school and the final-year classes also go outside the school to explore other sports.

Sports days

Each year group has its own sports day. We also pay attention to this during lessons and pupils develop various skills. During sports days, pupils who choose the subject of BSM (Movement, Sport and Society) are deployed so that they can experience the practical side of the subject.

Sports break

Exercise is important, but even more important: playing sports is fun. During every long break, pupils can take part in a sport of their choice, either individually or in groups. For example, you can play a game of football in the gym, and when the weather is nice, we naturally head outside.

More sport at Werenfridus

In addition to the regular gym classes, we also organise Tabor X-Tra! activities and who we are Elite Sports Academy. In addition, like the other Tabor locations, we are a Healthy School.

Werenfridus is one of the three locations of the Tabor College.
