UNESCO
We are a Unesco school
Werenfridus is one of the UNESCO Schools (secondary education) in the Netherlands. This means that at our school we are interested in the world and the people around us.
“Since wars begin in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the defences of peace must be constructed.”
This is the core mission of UNESCO: the UN organisation for culture, science and education. As a UNESCO school, Werenfridus is part of a global network that strives for international connectedness, tolerance and solidarity. On a smaller scale, this means that we ensure a safe school climate for our pupils and teachers. This is a school climate in which pupils and teachers from different backgrounds can work together harmoniously and respectfully engage with the world around them.
We strive to encourage pupils to make a positive contribution to a safe, tolerant, and clean world. We do this by focusing this vision at the heart of our education. To this end, we formulate achievable goals and outcomes for pupils and translate these appropriately into concrete activities and subject matter..
