Formative action

Formative teaching during lessons

Learning is not possible without evaluation. Formative action makes the learning process visible and effective through the cyclical process of feed-up, feedback, and feed-forward. Teachers and students have clear learning goals, with it being evident where students are in their learning process and how they can achieve the learning goals.

Coaching

We want to better guide students in their learning process. This works well when teachers or mentors do this in a coaching manner. This way, students can gradually take responsibility for their own learning process. They learn to see the consequences of their behaviour and gain insight into their work attitude and effort. If something doesn't work out, they also know to ask the right person for help in time. Furthermore, teachers as coaches pay attention to the development of executive functions.

Mentors regularly hold individual coaching sessions, where the student formulates new learning objectives themselves and describes what is needed to achieve them with the help of a logbook. Together with the mentor, the student prepares the three-way meeting with parents, with the student taking the lead.
