School plan

Our school plan

Werenfridus School Plan 2025-2029: Building a motivated, independent, and engaged future together.

In our school plan, we translate the core concepts of the Tabor College (good education, good living, good coexistence, and good citizenship) into the vision of the socially involved, independent, and motivated pupil, colleague, and parent/carer at Werenfridus. The school plan is based on input from the entire team and feedback from pupils and their parents/carers. As a result, the school plan truly belongs to all of us.

Goal and ambition 2029

The school plan is a response to the major societal and educational challenges of our time, such as polarisation, the rise of artificial intelligence, and the decline in basic skills.

We are working to provide a solid foundation of knowledge and skills, so that by 2029 pupils will:

  • A smooth transition to further education or the job market.
  • To develop into socially engaged, curious, and independent adults.
  • Learning to cope with adversity and develop resilience.

The three overarching ambitions for the next four years are:

  • Increasing social engagement within and outside of lessons.
  • Promoting motivation.
  • Increasing pupils' independence and perseverance.

How are we going to do that?

The ambitions have been translated into a concrete action plan divided into five categories: Pedagogy, Didactics, Educational Offer, Personal Development and Support.

Key focal points are:

  • Pedagogy Recording agreements on ‘sensible behaviour’ for a safe learning and working environment. De Werenfridiaan demonstrates exemplary behaviour, with an emphasis on genuine interest in others and listening.
  • Teaching methods Actively securing formative action in lessons to make pupils responsible for their own learning process. Explicitly integrating executive functions (e.g. learning to learn) into the curriculum, particularly in the lower years.
  • Educational offering Stimulating interdisciplinary learning to promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The objective is that by 2028-2029, 80% of pupils will participate in such projects.
  • Personal Development Focus on socialisation, inclusion, internationalisation (via TTO and Erasmus+), citizenship and the creation of a safe feedback culture.
  • Support The aim of our inclusive education is always to guide our pupils within the walls of Werenfridus towards qualification, socialisation, and personification.

With this plan, Werenfridus aims to be a school where everyone feels heard and seen, and where students are optimally prepared for their uncertain, but beautiful future.

Exchange rate

As Werenfridus, we are part of Tabor College. Together with d’Ampte and Oscar Romero, we have one clear mission: good education for every student we have the privilege of welcoming to our school. We have set out exactly how this will work in a course document. This document records where we want to be in 2027 – and how we will get there.

Good education

Good education forms the beating heart of the school. It is focused on the core questions of human life: What does it mean to live well? How can you live well together? And how do you become a good citizen? To answer those questions, our strategy plan has three important core values: living well, living well together, and being a good citizen.
