About our organisation

Tabor College Werenfridus is a senior secondary school (HAVO/VWO) with approximately 1400 pupils and 170 members of staff. In addition to the more than 100 teachers, Werenfridus offers internships to around 15 (LIO) trainees each year to gain experience and knowledge. These trainees often return after completing their studies to work with us as teachers.

In addition to the teaching staff, our colleagues from the OOP (educational support staff) are also indispensable to the daily process. This includes administration, timetablers, caretakers, IT staff, our librarians, receptionists, pedagogical staff and teaching assistants. This group consists of approximately 45 people.

The rector and deputy rector, together with the five team leaders, form the school management. They are supported by the management assistant.

School leadership

The school management team consists of Bart Segers (head teacher), Bart Overgaag (deputy head teacher) and the team leaders.

At Werenfridus, we work in educational teams. We have five of them, and each team has its own team leader:

  • Brugklas team: Alex Entius
  • Support team havo and vwo (2nd and 3rd year havo and vwo): Mirjam Braaksma
  • Underpinning team t-HAVO and t-VWO (2 and 3 t-HAVO and t-VWO): Marco Huiberts
  • Upper school team HAVO (Year 12 and 13 (t-HAVO)): Jacolien Annema
  • Upper school team vwo (years 4, 5 and 6 (t-)vwo): Geert Kikkert
The school management is supported by the management assistants: Maria de Wolf and Maaike de Vlas.

Our school

Our school is located on De Keyzerstraat in Hoorn. Meeting each other is important to us. Our building, completed in 2018, offers plenty of space for that. In the central square, pupils can relax or work independently in groups, as well as in the various learning houses. With sports halls and sports fields on the premises, exercise and learning are possible at the same location.

Tabor College consists of three campuses:
