Then the Honours Programme is for you! The Honours Programme challenges you to get the best out of yourself and offers motivated students numerous opportunities to enrich and broaden their horizons or to accelerate their studies.

Speed up

If you want to accelerate your studies, you can take exams early in one or more subjects during the upper years of VWO. It is even possible to complete the entire upper years in just two years instead of three. As a student in the lower years, you can also follow subjects in a higher year group and potentially complete them with an exam.

To enrich and broaden

If you are interested in gaining broad knowledge, it is possible to take exams in multiple profiles at the same time. It is also possible for a HAVO student to complete one or more subjects at VWO level.

Do you have a knack for languages and want to enrich your knowledge of a language? Or do you want to finish secondary school with an additional internationally recognised qualification (at your own expense)? Then the Cambridge Advanced Exam might be for you.

Are you curious about what it's like at universities, then it's possible to sign up for, for example, a webclass in Medicine. If you want to go a step further and already follow education at a university, you can take a masterclass or even, for example, a minor in astronomy. Or you can enrol in the Pre-University programme at the VU.

If personal development or broadening your horizons is important to you, then an international internship or 'School at Sea' might be more suited to you. Participation in Olympiads, debate competitions, or designing your own pursuit are also among the possibilities.

The Honours Programme is demand-driven, and your wishes and opportunities are reviewed together with your mentor and the team leaders.
