Collaborations

Werenfridus is collaborating!

Much is happening within the walls of Werenfridus, both in lessons and during activities. Together with other organisations, we want to work on meaningful education and be involved in what is happening in the world around us.

UNESCO

Werenfridus is one of the UNESCO Schools (secondary education) in the Netherlands. This means that at our school we are interested in the world and the people around us.

“Since wars begin in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the defences of peace must be constructed.”

We strive to encourage pupils to make a positive contribution to a safe, tolerant, and clean world. We do this by placing this vision at the heart of our education. To this end, we formulate achievable goals and outcomes for pupils and translate these appropriately into concrete activities and lesson material. Read more about how we fulfil our role as a Unesco school.

EP-nuffic

Pupils who have been introduced to the basics of internationalisation are well prepared for an international environment. They can more easily study, live and work abroad. EP-Nuffic, the Dutch organisation for internationalisation in education, promotes internationalisation in secondary education.

eTwinning is the online community for schools in Europe

She offers a platform for staff (teachers, headteachers, librarians, etc.) who work at a school in one of the European countries, and through the platform they communicate, collaborate, develop and share projects. In short, they feel part of, and are part of, the most engaging learning community in Europe. Pupils can also collaborate with schools abroad via this network. Werenfridus has the certificate eTwinning school.

Sixth Form College

The Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU) has developed the Pre-University College for motivated students in years 4, 5, and 6 of the VWO (pre-university education) who wish to become better acquainted with scientific education. This Pre-University College (PUC) is a collaboration between the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and secondary schools in the region. Werenfridus is a member of this partnership. Want to know more?
