At Tabor College, we want you to receive the best education that suits you. This means we will work with you to determine the best educational programme. The iPad is a valuable addition alongside the use of books, notebooks, lesson sheets, and practicals.
The benefits of working with the iPad
- For one subject, you might be a bit quicker or able to handle more. For another subject, you might need a bit more support. The iPad allows you to follow your own learning path for different subjects.
- The iPad enriches the teaching material with, among other things, video instructions and a link to current events.
- You see your progress immediately, because in education it's increasingly about ‘can I do this or do I know this?’ rather than ‘what mark did I get?’
We'll make sure you ‘stay on track’.’
We'll also teach you when not to use the iPad, or when you should concentrate on just one app rather than all of them at once.
It's possible that school and/or your parents/guardians may limit your screen time. This will help you stay more focused in class and learn to manage digital resources effectively. You'll also learn how to avoid distractions from things like games and social media. Learn more about preventing distraction.

Why do we choose the iPad?
The Tabor College has chosen the iPad because…
- this does not break quickly;
- the iPad hardly suffers from malfunctions;
- it only needs to be recharged after a day of work, it lasts the whole day;
- we can help you concentrate on the right things and counter distractions.
How did you get the iPad?
Every pupil has their own iPad. The iPad can be purchased at a discount through Tabor College. Parents/carers of our Year 7 pupils and new starters will receive more information about this in May/June, before the start of the new school year.
Information for parents/carers
For parents/carers of our (future) pupils, we have the following purchasing arrangement:
As a parent/carer, you will purchase the iPad via the Tabor College webshop.
A: You pay in one go; insurance (and cover) are mandatory (reduced rate);
B: You opt for a hire-purchase arrangement. The advantage is that payment can be made in instalments and a BKR registration is not taken into account.
For both option A and option B, technical support and comprehensive insurance are arranged through the school. There is a small excess. After registering your child, the final payment arrangement will follow in the spring. This is a voluntary contribution, which guarantees a good investment in your child's school career. Do you already have an iPad that you want your child to use at Werenfridus? In some cases, this is possible. Please contact IT administration to see what requirements the iPad must meet; this can be done via wf-systeembeheer@tabor.nl.
